Original circa 1910s advertising postcard for the Continental Hotel in San Francisco, operated by the Shanley-Furness Company on Ellis near Powell Street.
The front combines a detailed view of the downtown hotel with inset portraits of F. P. Shanley and J. C. Furness, bold red lettering, and the wonderfully direct invitation “STOP WITH US!”
The Flood Building is identified in the background, adding another recognizable piece of early San Francisco architecture to the streetscape.

The front is especially appealing for its combination of hotel architecture, early automobiles and street activity, proprietor portraits, and vivid red commercial typography.
Condition
Good antique condition with overall age toning, scattered spotting and soiling, surface wear, and moderate edge and corner wear. Small areas of staining and minor edge loss are present. Reverse remains unused and unaddressed. Printed imagery and red lettering remain strong and readily legible. Please review photographs closely.
