This RPPC reproduces one of Miles City photographer L.A. Huffman's most celebrated images — the Tongue River Valley camp of Spotted Eagle, the Sans Arc Lakota chief who led over 180 warriors at the Battle of the Little Bighorn before surrendering and fleeing to Canada with Sitting Bull. Huffman, hired in 1879 as photographer at Fort Keogh, is renowned for documenting the northern Plains peoples during the twilight of the buffalo-hunting era.
